WW2 Omega 6b/159 Air Ministry RAF Pilot Military Watch 1943 😊

During the Second World War, the Air Ministry ordered watches from various manufacturers.

This watch was one of several ordered from Omega for use by Royal Air Force pilots and navigators.

The military designation "6B/159" on the caseback is specifically relevant to this use, followed by the issue number, and the initials AM stand for "Air Ministry".

These watches were of great quality and were so highly regarded by the War Office that they continued to use them after the war ended and in 1956 upgraded the cases to larger steel ones to extend the life of these WW2 timepieces.

Omega 6Bs are rarely seen with the AM stamp, and more commonly have the number "A" and the number 2292 stamped on the inside of the caseback.

Overall this Omega Pilot is in good vintage condition.
The dial is in good condition with some minor scratches due to age.
The chrome case is really nice for its age and nature.
The markings on the case back are also beautiful.
This is the original crown.
The windshield is in good condition.
The needle is also in beautiful condition.
