1947 Rolex Men's Precision Ref.4498 Oversized 35mm Fancy Lugs

This is a wonderful example of a Rolex Precision Ref. 4498 manufactured in 1947.
A Rolex model full of charm and elegance.
The beautiful large 35mm stainless steel case is in excellent condition.
At the time, the standard size of a Rolex was around 31mm to 32mm, and an oversized Rolex was 35mm or larger.
The original dial has been restored to the highest possible standards and gives a simple yet gorgeous impression.
The dial features steel raised arrowhead batons and large steel dauphine hands.
The Rolex crown logo and serial number 627032 remain on the back of the case.
Very high quality 15 jewel movement has been fully serviced by a watchmaker.
Comes with a new high quality Hirsch strap.
Case
The stainless steel case is in very good condition with light wear from age.
The case size is 35mm excluding the winding crown.
On the inside of the caseback, all markings are expected to be correct.

Box and accessories
As with many vintage watches that are over 70 years old, the original certificate of authenticity has been lost or discarded over the years.
However, even though this watch does not have the original box or certificate, the watch, reference numbers, marks, signatures and hallmarks are all correct and indicate that this watch dates to 1947.
