This is a 1948 stainless steel wristwatch made by the International Watch Company (IWC) for the British Royal Air Force.
This is the famous IWC watch issued to the Royal Air Force.
Known among collectors as the Mark 11, this IWC model was issued to pilot personnel of the British Royal Flying Service during 1948.
The condition of this watch is good considering its age, with normal wear to the case and some fraying on the edges of the dial between 1-2 and 10-11 due to aging.
When you actually put it on your arm, you hardly notice it at all.
This watch was purchased from the family of the original owner and was worn daily for 25 years during his military service.
According to the original owner, the strap has never been replaced, so the original NATO strap is included.
But I don't know for sure, so you'll have to judge for yourself.
