This is a 1950s Rolex Men's Precision Ref. 4222 oversized 35mm 18K gold watch.

Description of item

A wonderful example of Rolex Precision made in the 1950s.

This is a rare Rolex model that combines charm and elegance.

The oversized 18K 35mm case shows light wear from age but is in very good condition.

It has straight lugs, a stepped middle case and is made of 18K solid yellow gold.

The reference number is 4222.

The silvery dial features gold numerals and batons, as well as large yellow gold pencil hands.

It retains the original Rolex single winding crown and the Rolex serial number on the outside back of the case.

The high quality 17 jewel chronometer movement has been fully serviced by a watchmaker.

Comes with a new high quality Hirsch Lizard strap.

Case

The case size is 35mm wide and 42mm long excluding the winding crown.

On the inside of the caseback, all markings are expected to be correct.

It is made by Rolex in Geneva, Switzerland, hallmarked for 18K (0.750) pure gold, and serial numbered with the reference model number 4222.

Dial

The original dial has been restored to the highest possible standards and is truly stunning.

It oozes 1950s style and elegance.

Box and accessories

As with many vintage watches that are over 70 years old, the original certificate of authenticity has been lost or discarded over the years.

However, even though this watch does not have the original box or certificate, the watch, reference number, marks, signature and hallmarks are all correct, indicating that this watch dates to the 1950s.
